Ariens 32" Repower Options

Have a 910010 Ariens 10,000 series. A recent 12"+ storm made me realize the 8hp for a 32" bucket is a bit low. I have a newer 8hp Tec motor I could use, but I'd like to upgrade to a larger HP engine.

I know the easy drop is the 6.5 hp Predator, but that's going to wrong way for power for me.
Unsure about the 8 hp since there'd be a negligible benefit - would the 13 hp motor work or would that be a tough fit?

I know the Tecumseh HMSK110 is an 11hp motor - would that work? If Tecumseh or Briggs had a 12 or 13 hp I'd look at those too, but IDK how much it would take a Briggs to fit on an old Ariens.

Any input on repower engines is helpful - I want to make sure I can use all 32" during a heavy storm.

This is the first of my 10 part series on youtube. I put a Briggs and Stratton 14.5GT (approx. 10HP) engine on an old Bolens.

Although the Bolens is 24", I think the Briggs 14.5GT would be plenty strong for your needs.

The website that I got the engine from no longer has that particular one for sale but they have others.

You might also consider an LCT engine.

I think this 414cc engine is approxomately 12hp.

Another thing to be aware of....

Mount-BS-Tec Briggs & Stratton Engine mount plate, 1/8" thick, to replace Tecumseh HM80-HM110, LH318-LH358, OHM120, OH358SA, OHSK120, OHSK125, OHSK130 with Briggs Intek model "20" and "21" engines, primarily on snow blowers. Gas Engines, Horizontal

I picked up one of these to put one of my new Briggs and Stratton 14.5GT onto an Ariens 1024 that had a 10hp Tecumseh engine on it.

I will be making another video series about it when I find the time to do it.
