The cam spins reverse and drives the trans right? What type of trans? I have same situation and have a full gear box not a friction disk but since I'm not having any trouble I have not investigated. Add a gear, somehow run the belt figure 8? IDK. Maybe a search or someone can chime in. Undoubtedly you're not the first.

Take the case apart and find out why it's not spinning, there are gears in there.

If your snowblower uses a dual shaft you can't use the Predator because it's a single shaft unless you swap the undercarriage from left side to right.

I wonder if he could just set it up so his reverse gears(s) are now his forward one and forwards would be reverse. I general only use 1st and 2nd forward. Mine has 2 reverses but some might only have 1 and that would be limiting if it became the only forward.

Being an MTD you may get lucky a just be able to flip the shifter lever to reverse drive directions. It still will be faster but the direction will be right.
There is at least one youtube video about how to do it....
You can also search here on the forum for re powering dual shaft engines snowblowers to a Predator

its been done plenty of times, some machines are easier than others and results may vary . ground speed can be an issue.

Yes you can. Here is a link from 5 years ago on what I did to repower my old MTD with a Predator 212cc.

I have an 8/26 with a dual-shaft engine and what I've found is that there are a lot of used engines out there, and pretty cheap too. When mine gets tired or grenades, that is the route I'm going.
