Jiangdong 5.5 hp

Hi. I have a "Dong 5.5 that's not being used. Are these things worth a dang to use in say an old toro that's blowed up or whatever. It's sitting on a kinda crappy yardman chassis that needs an auger bearing and a gear and some paint. Just unsure what direction to go with this thing. Thanks.

Since it's already on the yardman how about doing the bearing, gear and a little paint ?? Or a used Toro or Ariens with a blown engine.

.

.
Make sure the windows are up before the snow plow goes by !!

I just look at how crappy the yardman is with the plastic auger bushings, the shear pins, brass auger gear, etc, and it makes me lean more towards finding a toro as you suggested. The Mrs. hopes it ends up at the end up at the end of the drive for the scrappers but I'm trying to not hear her.

I guess maybe the thing to do is pull the 5hp Tecumseh off the toro 5\24 and maybe put the 5.5 'Dong on that chassis. A project for the summer at minimal cost.
