Gx 390

What would you gents pay for this sacked out looking GX390? The seller isnít sure what it came from, but assumes an air compressor. I know Hondaís arenít cheap but Iím a mechanic and Iím not afraid to tear into it, I just donít want to spend a ton of money on it. Iím considering this or a new unit from Princess Auto for a re-power unit.

Keep in mind, Iím looking for $CAD.
Heís asking $300 as is.

$150 tops; you need a new recoil and fan shroud and an air cleaner assembly and throttle linkage and springs by the sad looks of it.

If it was used without the air filter mounted ,it may be more trouble than its worth if it was free.

you are probably better off just buying a new unit from princess auto. you can get a similar engine new for not much more especially when they go on sale. you might even be able to get a winter engine on sale for that much if you wait.

Yeah I think thatís what Iíll do. He says it doesnít run, so I wouldnít be surprised if itís dusted. Iíll keep an eye open for a winter engine as i would think theyíll be coming on sale in a month or so. Thanks.

i can understand why he is asking as much as he is but the more you ask the harder it is to sell especially if it doesn't run. a honda gx390 go for about $1350 new from princess auto but it is really hard to justify spending that much on one when you can get 2-3 of the princess auto brand ones for that price and they are likely to last just as long as a honda.
