Predator 212 onto Ariens ST350

Will the Predator 212 fit onto the Ariens ST350? The old Tecumseh is tired and it's only 3.5 HP. I'd like to upgrade to the 6.5 Predator.

Will this fit on the Ariens frame? I work in a machine shop, so I have access to mills, lathes, welders, you name it.

tpenfield did something similar on a Toro 3520.

I've got a soft spot for those old 3.5hp tecs. She probably just needs a valve job, carbon clean-up and head dressing + new head gasket.

I put one on an older Ariens, .... bolts right up, with just a slight realign on the chute rod placement. .... Runs great, using it for 3 years now.

I bought the engine yesterday. Got the Hemi one, the 60363. It's been -10 here the last few days but it's warming up to the 40's today. I'm hoping to get a few minutes to work on it. My kid's birthday party tomorrow and the SuperBowl will probably take priotiy though.

I may just run it into my work and stay late and work on it there. The auger quite moving so I've got to look at that also. I'll post pictures as I do the work.

Direct bolt on. Now I just need to work out the belts and pulleys. Two shaft Tecumseh into a single shaft. I got some work to do.

The auger moves freely and the gearbox spins. Don't know why it was not turning prior to to engine swap.

How did you deal with the two shaft into one shaft problem?

I'm going to run the belt under the drive pulley like this guy did. it will reverse the rotation. I ordered a pulley, a twin drive. I'll machine it on the lathe at work. I also ordered 2 idler pulleys. I'll make a bracket and bolt it to the predator to hold the idlers. If I can I'll spring load it to maintain tension. Some engineering and machining but I think I can pull it off. Alignment will be my biggest challenge.
