Should I buy it

I have an opportunity to buy a i924e that was only used last winter in NJ by a homeowner. We only had only big snow.
All I know about the blower is is has been discontinued. He claims he paid nearly $1500.00 for it and it has all the bells and whisles.
He is being tranferred to Florida shortly and I have negioated him down to $750.00.
I was all set to buy a new Ariens deluxe 24 for $999 plus tax.
What would you do?

This Seller is probably grinning from ear to ear right now thinking he's got you locked in at $750.

But, unbeknownst to him, you've now learned that this model had an MSRP of only $899 when it was new like SEVEN years ago (scroll about halfway down)...

24 inch Snow Blowers $600 to $1500 - Which is the Best? Craftsman, Husqvarna, Toro, Ariens, Snapper/Simplicity, Cub Cadet - MovingSnow.com

So if you really like this machine - and it is truly like new (beware: everyone says that!) - offer $400 - $425.

If he even flinches or counters with a penny higher, tell him to have a nice time hauling it to Florida and walk away. Plus with the move coming he's got very limited options so he'd be stupid or stubborn not to take whatever offer comes his way soon.

(got to dig at this guy a little for throwing that bogus $1500 at you)

Or skip the drama and get the Ariens which you already know is a nice machine anyway.

So isn't this just a B&S rebadged ?
I would pass unless under $300.

Stick with the Ariens or if you don't mind the lower horse power get a Husky from Lowes.

print out the info if he won't drop to under 500 walk away,
yes last winter was mild here in jersey but even so, no one knows for sure how a machine was used or cared for, how was it stored? most likely just parked as most are here,

He did me a big favor and lowered it to $700. Went to Home Depot today and with a 10% military discount bought a deluxe 24" Ariens for $899.
Thanks for all your help!
