Another Newbie

Just got a simplicity Pro (small gate access from rear year) ?1524?
Live north of Boston. Got to change my break in oil after first storm.
Replaced a 16 year old Toro.
Love the power auger chute controls. Neighbors close and can easily direct snow with out cranking anything.

Real nice unit I have the same model mine is maybe six years old and I really like it. The power chute is great until your power motor dies then it's stuck in one position this happend to me last year but I ordered one and put it in myself in like 30 minutes. I like the controls and the power on the 1524 is fantastic no bog down even in deep wet snow. Good luck with yours it should serve you well.

24 inch.

Nice machine. I have the 32 but I have a lot of ground to clear.
2 of my friends just bought 24's this last year and love them.
I had a chute rotation issue also but replaced the switch and all is well.
I wanted an Ariens but my dealer here locally went to simplicity Line. So went with his recommendation. He said he changed brands after the Ariens started cost reducing everything.
I don't know what's true either way but that's how I ended up with the big Simplicity and my friends with theirs.
So far the switch issue has pissed me off pretty good one day.
$2500 machine and I have to fix it.

My dealer, whom I have dealt with for 16 years, said they gave up on Ariens two years ago they couldnot keep up with the repairs for new equipment. The old ones are work horses. I had a Toro.
My new Simplicity had a bound up worm screw on chute. Warm water and WD40 fixed that.
