Garage
You know you want it and there's plenty of room in your signature for it.

Now that is just seriously funny.

But in all seriousness, K4F, anybody who has a Yamaha Superjet 701 (square nose or round nose?) probably has so many jet skis in various stages of rebuild in his garage (although it would be worse if his username was js550), that the only room he has for any new internal combustion engine driven device is in his signature here.

Maybe we should all come clean and list all our ICE driven machines in our signatures:

'76 Kawasaki js440 (formerly) superstock (wife's old bouy racer)
'88 Kawasaki x2 650 (gen 1) wife's
'94 Yamaha SJ 701 SN ours
'93 Kawasaki 550sx high compression (runs best on 98 octane) mine

That's just the skis. Let's keep this our secret. Because I am not ready to list all the ICE driven things on the property. (But as soon as I can sort out the evaporative emissions line/cannister leak, I am putting my '77 black Corvette up for sale...)

This is the list of watertoys i've had and still have

'85 JS550, my first ski rode it hard, broke it, fixed it, repeat many times, restored it and sold it
'91 JS550SX, cracked the hull in half and sold it as parts
'95 SJ701, bought it new still have it, will NEVER sell it
'90 SJ650, sold it to a buddy to fund my Wifes engagement ring, still miss that ski
'95 FX1, bought it because I missed my 550's this is a fun ski, will NEVER sell it
'96 SPX Sea Doo, her ski

And yes I am afraid to count the number of engines that reside within machinery in my garage, I'm just glad my wife is understanding of my sickness.

I am so jealous of you with the FX1 I could spit. All the cool guys say that the FX1 is a ski everybody wants until they get one. But I love the skinny underpowered 550sx so maybe I would love the 701cc powered FX1 too. But I need to save for a 2008+ SJ and can't afford either and certainly not both... But they only made the FX1 in '94 and '95 and they are rare... Dang.

You want to be careful talking like that. You're starting to sound like my significant other. You can never have too many powered labor saving devices on hand. What if the first six, seven ... snow blowers, lawn mowers, chainsaws, grass trimmers, tillers, ice augers, power washers ... don't start ??

"I'm just glad my wife is understanding of my sickness."

You may have hit upon the most important element in the "sickness" we share.

Hey, let us know when you bring that Simplicity home, and share a bunch of pictures of it.

I'm pretty much retired from the forum thing, but I check in every now and then.

If you like the Kawasaki 550 hull you will like the FX1. I looked for a clean one for some time, that wasn't all cut up and modified, and I found one in Kansas City and drove 8 hours to pick it up. Check out x-h2o(dot)com and you'll find one eventually.

BTW some of my riding buddies who have 08+ Superjets hate the FX1. I've ridden them and I'm not in a hurry to upgrade yet.
