Cannot upload files

95% of the time this site will not let me upload attachments...I just tried to create an avatar, and the message said "upload of file failed".

This is the ONLY site I have ever found, anywhere, that constantly has this issue. I have only been able to post perhaps four attachments out of 100 I have tried to post. And WHY????

And don't tell me to use PhotoBucket or Snapfish or some other S*** software....every other site I try to post on works great without anything added to Windows.

Garage
Most of the time that means that they are too large?

Have you tried re-sizing them?

I hate shoveling SNOW!

For an Avatar it is too big.

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

wow! that worked too..which surprises me, I would suspect an upload limit would be much lower than that..

JDgreen, what are the stats of your computer?
operating system? browser?
you might need to update something on your end..

oh yeah, for an avatar thats WAAAAY too big.
as Coby said, you need to resize an avatar to no larger than 100x100 pixels.
uploading "regular" photos to a forum post is a different story..im going to try one larger than 2mp now..

ok, lets see if a large .pdf will attach..
this is a Snowbird owners manual, at 3,587K in file size, which is 3.5MB.

forum says:
failed: "Your file of 3.50 MB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 19.5 KB for this filetype."

So, there is a file size limit..
always resize photos to 640 pixels wide for internet forum use. (never upload photos directly from a digital camera! without resizing! they are WAY too big that way! and you should be fine..
