Question Questions for the Commanders & Chiefs.

I guess I am posting in the correct forum?

Why don't we have a Snow Bird forum?

You don't have room?
Take the SnowJoe out and put the Snow Bird there.
No one says much there anyway.

We have a growing number of Snow Bird folks here lets have a spot for Snow Birds on the Snowblowers Brand Forums.

Come on Scot....use your power, wave your magic wand, Please.

Also, this is around the third or fourth time I am asking this, maybe someone in command will see my question here?
A copy and paste from another thread where I asked this,

I still would like to know why tagging on a post is not turned on here?
I have asked before and got not one reply? Not one.

Tagging in a thread enhances the search feature, I see no reason it could not be turned on? Is there a reason?

Thank you

I will find some snow bird threads and pass them along to Scot for proper placement. Unless Scot can find them easier.

Tagging?
Why can't you tag a post? Did you have problems at one time because of tagging?

Tell me something else, I go to the SnowblowerForum.com House Rules & Helpful Hints forum but when I get there I can't seem to find a way to find any threads or posts?
What am I doing wrong?
House rules should show up somehow right?
I went to read the rules but can't find any there?
I must be doing something wrong.

I read about tagging in the FAQ.

I can't find out how?

Would that be the trackback box?

Edit....I guess not I wrote "tagging" in the trackback box to test and no tag shows up that I can see?

What is trackback?

Ed, I dont know what you mean by tagging..do you mean the way you can tag a person in Facebook? If so, I have never heard of that concept or ability existing anywhere outside of Facebook..never heard of it in a forum before..why would we want it here?

No not at all, I hardly ever go on Facebook. I don't even know how to tag someone there.

The V bulletin on other sites has a tag box. You see it under the posts in a thread.
All it is is a box were you can add a few key words and in a search the search feature will show ALL the threads that has been discussed about them. You might remember talking about a certain subject but can't find the thread. If you had tagged it you could easily find it through a search if it was tagged, months or years later.

Example,
I tag the words in the tag, LED light, every thread that has that tag will show up in a search.
I just used that as an example.

If all the threads about LED lighting was tagged months or years from now if some one searched using those words every thread ever that talked about LED with the tag would show up in the search. A normal search will pull out some when you search LED but not all.

It greatly enhances the search feature.
Members are limited to so many tags in one thread and the description length is limited to around 2 or 3 words.
Sometimes when the thread is new a normal search will bring it up as it is fresh in the system, but as months (or years) go by the search won't show it anymore. Now if it had a tag it would.

I was just wondering why we don't have tagging.

How about TRACKBACK?
As your typing a reply in the advanced mode, look down and you see a TRACKBACK box.

Says,
Trackback
Send Trackbacks to (Separate multiple URLs with spaces):
(with a box below here for adding content)

What is a trackback box for?
Maybe that works like a tag box?
