continuing spam nuisance

Many forums will have the first post or two subject to review before being published. Now that spring is here and things are slowing down, I wonder if that might be worth considering to address our spamming offender.

Toro 3650 (primary)
Toro 2450 (recent purchase)
Toro PowerLite (3hp)
Craftsman 3/20 (also recent, will likely flip)
Toro 1800 electric (gone)
Shovels (and aspirin)

It sure would be nice to put the final lock on those smooth skin, muscle building, stamina spams. I believe VS, the owner of the forum, does have a blocker in place that would catch posts being made from the same computer. That would catch a spammer, or harassing user that had already been banned. But the thing is, each one of them is coming from a different IP address. On top of that, not all are coming through the same country or internet service. So as annoying as it is, each one of them has to be dealt with as they come.

I'm pretty much retired from the forum thing, but I check in every now and then.

Any chance we can get the home page or contact link for some of these Spammers? Just looking to have some fun posting snow blower maintenance tips or predator engine recommendations in their customer feedback section.

I doubt the folks in Pakistan, where most of these are coming from, would see the humor. Wouldn't want to be setting off any alarms in the homeland security office.

No chance at all, unfortunately..
these spam posts are automated, they probably send out 100,000 a day to thousands of forums..they only need one sale out of 1,000 posts to make it worthwhile..they have no webpage, its not a legit business..there is no way to actually find them, and you wouldn't want to if you could..there is no current way to stop it at the source, all we can do is block them..

Being retired and all, I generally wake up too late to see them. You guys do a good job on getting them off here.

Hey William, since it has fallen to you to keep PS93 in line maybe you can delegate him to deal with the spammers. Give him a job to do so he doesn't get in to any mischief.
Are you reading this, Todd?
