snapper I 524 belt replacement

after buying an auger belt for this snow thrower, i discovered that there is no simple way to install it. all of the videos i see online show taking the belt cover off, and looping the belt around the bottom and to pulley. after trying this, i realized that the shaft on the bottom pulley makes this impossible. is it possible that i need to pull the entire auger system out just ton install a new belt? thank s for any input.

remove the bottom cover as well as the top belt cover. Install the belt from the bottom. That's how I've always done it, except on a couple Toro blowers. Those require disconnecting the tractor and bucket sections.
