Over the last week I have installed an ariens track kit. Pretty straight forward install. All the holes were already in the chassis so it only made it that much easier to accomplish. The only problem that I did run into one issue. The sno Tek did not have the gear reduction shaft ,gears and 41 chain from the factory. Had to order about another 70 bucks in parts to finish it all of . Today was my first day using it and have nothing but good to say about the change from wheels to track drive. It's a little slow in the travel speed right now, but I didn't get time to install the speed up pully and belt that came in the kit. I'll wait for a good stretch of weather before I take it out of service to install the speed up kit. Even though this machine is only 208cc I could go out into my yard where no one has touched yet this year and blow my way through about 25-30 inches of snow with no issues. Again very happy with the kit and anyone else that is looking to upgrade there sno Tek. You just need to look at the chassis and see if the holes are pre drilled. If they are it can be done.

I had intended to do this, but never got around to it...yet. It seemed kind of pricey - $500+. How much was yours ? What kind of bucket-height adjustment does this kit result in - a couple of positions, or infinite like the new Hondas ? Is it easy to adjust ?

Thanks !

This was the kit for the 15" wheel snowblowers. I paid $500 . There are five positions in the bucket height adjustment. Transport, two inch up ,one inch up ,on your skids and finally a dig setting. Like I said in the initial post. You will need to purchase some extra parts for the reduction drive. The shaft comes with the kit for the reduction drive but none of the clips, spacers, bushings ,chain ,and chain drive pulleys. I have a parts list of what I ordered. If anyone wanted it. It was about $80 bucks more added to the price of the kit. Well worth the money. I already have had the blower for 3 or 4 years. So I figure the price is negligible to selling it and spending 1500 to 1800 for a mtd brand track unit. I like my ariens better than mtd.

I wonder how that would work with a Ariens auto turn blower.

Sno-Tek Modded, 15"X-Track tires (Now has same X-Track tires but 13"x4" for better fit), 254cc engine LED light and hand warmers.
Snapper 6/22 sold but not forgotten. Was my first.
Ariens ST1027LE workhorse and going strong.
New 2017 Ariens Deluxe completely rebuilt after losing a fight with a forklift.

Is the ground speed fast enough, and how many height adjustments do you get, and how are they done ?

I've heard that it can be done on auto turn blowers. If you look up on you tube a guy adds a track kit to a 30" sho with autoturn. Without disabled it.
