JD 1032 tension spring

New to the forum, hope you can help.
I have a JD 1032 snowblower I'm repairing. When I removed the access plate on the rear side the wheel drive chain was broken and there is also a broken spring. The chain was an easy repair but I have no idea where the spring goes. I went to the local JD Dealer and determined the the spring that was needed was an extension spring, 38 coils. They gave me a picture of the assembly/parts but i can't figure out where the spring came from. I know it's a vague description but does anyone have a clue. Maybe a good picture of the internals?
Thanks!

Pg 5-4, the only spring they mention attaches to the idler pulley bracket to pull it back from engagement
