Weak or No Spark

i have a HS50 67174D
ser. # 0178B
MTD Snow Flite 5/21
it has a weak orange intermittent spark.
i tried a different complete magneto with points and cond., same result...... tried a flywheel from another HS 50, no difference....
i can take the points cond. and complete magneto...... put on a different engine and have blue spark every revolution..... only difference is the flywheel from that engine , a H35.
the strength of the magnets on the little H35, is noticeably stronger.
do i need a new flywheel?
i checked, Discontinued
can magnets be re- energized ?
is there anything else ?
what am i missing?

Magnets take millions of years to de-magnetize. Are gaps correct and new spark plug?

i actually took a die grinder and elongated the register of the magneto so i could move it closer to the rotating magnets .

i believe it is proven that vibration can reduce the strength of magnets

and i have tried a new spark plug, also one from a running engine

The snip below is from the book,"Outdoor Power Equipment" by Jay Webster:
Edit:This is also the same procedure from the Tecumseh L-head manual.

Hey Guys, +1 on Science Teacher Beat Down.....I got burned by that once, Thought the manual was full of Sh*t. Not very scientific, but an accurate and verifiable test. The flywheel swap proved it out. GLuck, Jay
