Toro CCR 2000

I have a toro ccr2000 model 38180. It has the Suzuki engine. When I start it up , it runs with a slight surge when running. Is that normal? I never had one and I inherited this machine. If it is not normal, what can I do to fix it? Thanks, Dave.

just got one myself, its not a big deal but a cleaning of the carb couldnt hurt. fairly easy job with minimal tools needed. just buy a can of carb clean and take her apart.
mine would be very hard to start, run rough then eventually not run at all.
heres a short vid on why

Bought a dead but now fixed 1980ish craftsman II 10/28....ITS ONE HEAVY BEAST

MY VIDS ON FIXIN HER UP
