Auxiliary cam shaft PTO

Good morning
Besides Tecumseh which has been long out of business, are there any motor manufacturers out there anyone knows about that still produces 3.5 to 6 hp engines with the Auxiliary cam shaft PTO for wheel drive on older Ariens machines.

Thank you and have a great day.

Briggs makes them, may be overkill but I may use one of these

I have used 922 series dual shaft engines available. PM if interested.

I will have to do some adapting to make the cam belts work on that newer type of engine given the fact that the PTO shaft looks to be lower than the Tecumseh. At least I have a route to look at.
Thank you again

You may be right it may not work

This is a single pto non professional 1150 sitting on my 922022
The drive pto may interfere with the drive tensioner

I’m really intrigued by this swap and for the price of a new compact 24 this may even make sense?

Thank you

My current “theory” is raise the motor to the point where the stock drive belts will work and just change the auger belt

There is some interference with the recoil and auger control but the referenced unit has electric start

Thank you
