Honda hss724 shock for height adjustment problems.

I hold in on the lever next to the handle to adjust the height and it just moves up and down freely. Was used in to clear a lot of heavy slush and water during a rain storm. Then after the storm there was a quick freeze. Was stored outside. Has anyone else had the shock freeze up or the handle freeze like this before or is it broken. Machine isntt too old

The spring and hook will freeze up for sure. A shot of auto anti freeze from a spray bottle at the hook up and spring area will help prevent freeze up.

Thank for the tip. It was in the lowest position. Then I hit the lever to raise the auger to the highest setting to lower it from my truck on the ramp. Then it moves freely as if it’s frozen in the open position. At least I hope it’s frozen

Just frozen most likely. its a spring loaded hook controlled by the cable. I have never had a freeze problem with it but I keep anti freeze on it. I have had the drive interlock on the handlebar freeze thou and the anti freeze will take care of that as well. I keep a squirt bottle of antifreeze in the truck when Im plowing.
