craftsman 247.889571 Auger belt slipping off

So I got my snow blower running, but auger belt keeps coming lose after I have it engaged. Is there some kind of guide pin in front for it or is it possible to tighten?

Check the Alignment of the pulleys. Also I would check the adjustment of the control cable. It may not be putting enough tension on the tensionor pulley. Also how is the condition of the belt?

When a belt continues to come off there is usually something wrong with a pulley or a belt keeper. Look closely at the pulleys and idlers to see if a grove has been worn into one side of the pulley.

Check the bearings on the idler pulleys. If they feel rough or have play in the bearings, replace the pulley.

Check the belt keepers, they should be within 1/8 inch of the belt.

Make certain that the correct belts are installed and not stretched beyond their useful life.
