Ariens 920 Series Sno-Thro

Gentlemen,

I just joined this Site because it's time for some maintenance and the Motorcycle Forums I've used in the past have been really helpful. The Snowblower I've got is the 920013 Compact 22 LE, 208cc, Ariens engine. I'm happy with this machine so far and since an oil change is long overdue does anyone know the oil capacity? It's not listed in either manual I've got and I can't even find it online. Also, the headlight's dead and from day one, I've had to overprime it to get it started.

Any advice or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

Bob

What do you consider to be overpriming?
As to the light... Are you getting 12 v at the socket?

If I push the primer three times, as recommended, it won't start. If I keep priming until I start to see gas dripping from the carb, it will start. I guess I'm calling that overpriming.

I haven't pulled out the voltmeter yet but I will. The headlight comes in handy when it's dark by five PM.

Thanks for your reply Joe.

You may have an air leak in the priming system. If you can't resolve it, here is the replacement: https://www.jackssmallengines.com/ja...riens/20001472

And the headlamp: https://www.jackssmallengines.com/ja...riens/04812300

You can also modify the existing headlamp assembly (starts about page 16): https://www.dropbox.com/s/7qbegrrqux...grade.pdf?dl=0
