Tec HS50 and Nova 2

Hi all. I know this is probably beat to death, but I've been researching to no avail. I have a mtd snow blower with a tec hs50. I went to start it up and there was no spark so I opted to replace it with a nova 2. I dont know where I'm going wrong. I disconnected the kill switch because I have no key anyway. I attached a couple pics to show my temp setup. I was checking for spark by turning the crank with a ratchet. I tried reversing the polarity, and the second little wire off the coil I tried connected and disconnected. it used to be attached to where the condenser was screwed in.

Here ya go.
I think you probably can't get it to turn fast enough with a ratchet spin. Put it back together and pull the rope.
I'm going to ask a stupid question... You did have the flywheel on when you tried it?

Maybe the coil is kaput, and that is the original problem.

Points/condenser work just fine in Tecumseh's. With the module you have no way to set actual ignition timing.

All of mine are running points. They fire up on 1 or 2 pulls.

Some useful tips here.

Lol yes I had the flywheel on. That second short wire off the coil is just a ground I assume?
