Looking for new tires
I have an older ariens 922002 snow blower with the hard rubber tires size 10.25x3.25 that are pretty worn. The bolt pattern is the three bolt triangle. Is there another wheel and tire combination that might be compatable without changing any thing or would i have to change axle/hubs.Am trying to do this as easy as possible Has chains on now but i am not too crazy about them. Thanks for any help
Welcome to SBF. I googled your model number and there seems to be a wealth of information out there. I should think there would be wheels out there for your blower. Try some of the local OPE repair shops. Find the older ones. They usually have a good supply of used parts.

If you can not locate the original Ariens 3 lug Rims, then something like the following is what I used in the past. A separate hub, which I scored in a keyway in the axle on one machine, and the 6 inch split rim, which by the way, make it way easy to install the tire, otherwise you will need a mini tire changer like the one from Harbor Freight, or take it to a local small equipment shop if you have the solid rim. The size tires that would have been on these machines would be equivalent to the XTrac 13X4.00-6, which I have on all my Ariens and they work flawlessly, even better than the SnowHogs, which are also a good tire.
I found larger, three lug wheels for my Ariens after I asked at a shop and they directed me to their dumpster where they had just dumped an old machine in pieces. There were already chains on them but I removed the chains and don't really need them as that machine gets used only on pathways in light snow and doesn't need to do the driveway hill. The machine flies right along now with the increase in tire diameter. I am glad I increased the diameter and sped up my machine. If you need to use first gear just be aware that your ground speed will increase and may overwhelm your blower in the heavy stuff. If your still looking, try calling a few shops, you may get lucky. I've also seen them on Craigs List.
