Replacement friction disk

I just purchased an after market replacement disk for an MTD machine.

It was a Stens 240-991.

The friction surface appears to have a thin rib protruding rib around the circumference on the center.. It is like a relatively thick uniform parting line from the molding process. It seems uniform 360 degrees around. Unlike typical mold flash that is irregular.

Is this common as I don't buy a lot of these. Never seen it before and wondering if it wears in fast and doesn't create any issues.
It is a PITA to return and would prefer to use it if it will work fine.

I have had very good quality from Stens products in the past. Just wondering. Any thoughts?

I have seen the slight manufacturing mark (ring) you are referring to before. Not an issue at all … that will be just fine and the disc operation will perform as normal. It will press in up against the drive plate with no issues. I have had this on some in the past.
