Question Where does bolt go

Good Morning: I have a Certified gas 2 stage snowblower. The other day i was about 10 feet from being finished , when I noticed a couple of small drops of oil. Backtracked and found this plus a spring. We are in the middle of a storm in Manitoba. I don't want to split the frame but can't find a spot where it would of come out of. I have the manual but the pictures are just a black smudge of ink

The model number on the Instruction manual is 060-0184-8. I don't know if that is a number just for Canadian Tire . Thank you

Adding your location to your profile would be nice.

Can you post a photo of the spring with a ruler or it's length so we can try to figure out which spring it is?
Have you put it up in the service position, pulled the trans pan off and see if the drive plate is being pulled away from the friction wheel. There should be tension pulling it away when the handle isn't engaged.

PDF of parts breakdown at page 29 - - > https://www.amerisuninc.com/pdf/1155...nual-Final.pdf

When we do figure out what it goes might be a good idea to use a little Loctite on it to secure it in place.

That bolt definitely looks like a spring hooks on it. Given the oil, if it is from the blower, I'd start looking at the engine. Look at the parts manual and find every instance of a spring and look on the machine and find the missing one. Off hand, you have a spring holding tension on the drive belt tensioner, closest to the engine. You have a spring holding tension OFF of the auger belt tensioner. And you have a spring holding the drive wheel back from engagement in under the engine. I'd start under the belt cover.

some pics of the spring might help but i would say you might want to try looking around the handles for a missing bolt. there is a pan on the bottom of the machine in the manual so it likely didn't fall from inside the machine.

Welcome to SBF Raffi. Do any of the controls feel different or is there a function not working? The nub on the bolt would indicate the spring attaches there and probably a lever somewhere else.
