Simplicity 860 pull start recoil

Snowblower came with no pull start rope. Went to add one and it doesn't appear there is a mechanism for winding the rope back up. Am I missing something (part or knowledge)? Thank you

Yes, your missing the spring mechanism similar to this.. You can usually get the spring, cord and handle in a package as well.

thats for a tecumseh. i believe the briggs starter is nla and has been superseded to a retrofit kit that uses a more modern starter cup and recoil pawl design but requires you to cut off the end of your crankshaft like this kit
