Honda HS624 snowblower drive cable broken

Hello,I was using my beloved HS 624 the other day when the drive handle went limp. The problem is the drive Cable has become unwelded from a small rounded machineD piece that fits into the mechanism that the drive lever would engage. Looks like a difficult fix has anyone had the same issue?

That is when you wish you have a welding machine. I have a $900 welding machine, but I rarely used it. A lot of times, it was cheaper to buy new than to fix anything.

would you really weld up a cable? I guess so if you couldn't do anything else. I've seen some remarkable redneck repairs . most are horrible and I charge double to re-do their repairs.

He said the cable has become UN-WELDED from a small rounded piece, so I said what would be useful in these situations. It wasn't a solution. You don't have to ask that question to make me sound dumb on here. I know more than you think.

What he was referring to was most likely the barrel end of the cable (round piece). It was solder, not welded. He can find them at Home Improvement Stores (They are hammered to secure).

I'm sure it wasn't his intention, but I had to stand up for myself. It was probably not worth it, but still, it was good to let him know as well. I have a tolerance for everything, but I don't always take crap from people. I saw that a lot at my previous workplace. It was one of the reasons why I went back to college. If it was a criticism, then I would have learned from it.

Sorry to make it sounds like we are fighting, but we are not. We are adults here. He knows it and probably does not care. We continue on like nothing have ever happened.
