Ariens 6-blade impeller verses 4?

I've pondered this a long time and researched to no prevail. I have a slightly modified Ariens (1978) that has the old tear-drop 32" bucket with 4-blade impeller @ 12" diameter. I'm now in process of sanding and painting another 32" bucket except it is off a 1980 so has the later (and bigger) bucket design. It also has 6-blade impeller instead of 4 and has 14" diameter instead of 12". But I noticed chute has a partial block in it for some reason? Can I expect better throwing distance or will it be same or less? I really don't see the advantage of 6 verses 4 except I like the bigger diameter impeller. Clarence kit is used in old bucket and will be used in this one too. Any imput on the older Ariens 6-blade performance appreciated.

I don't know the answer to 4 vs 6, but the larger diameter should help you.

Please direct all snow blower questions to the forums and not to me with PMs.
