Older MTD Blower info. needed....

New to the forum. 1. In need of info. year, model, etc. on the MTD Snowflite blower in following pics. All I know its about a 1973 or so and the only numbers I can find are ??? - 830 - ???. Has an 8 hp tecum and 30" cut. 2. Idea where I can get a drive wheel/pulley that the friction wheel runs against. It is truly a workhorse of a blower. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks. funtwohunt

My guess from Scot's site, is that the closest thing, was this is also known as a Crusader. It was built by MTD, in their glory days of building quality machines.

The Gilson Snowblower Shop's Vintage Machine Showcase

Now for the bad news, parts are almost impossible to come across in the major parts houses. You may be able to have a pulley fabbed for you in steel. Maybe some one can chime in to offer a suggestion for a place to have one built.

Garage:
MTD....2 stage(modern 8.5 HP) not my favorite
Honda HS622 TA-B - acquired at an auction- nice machine for it's size.
Toro S-140- Picked it up on trash day... it runs, sort of.
Yamaha YS 240 TB "Ricky" latest Craigslist find- on the bench now.

I would take that wheel down to your local dealer and see if they can match it up with another brand. To me it looks close to the ones that are on ariens.
