factory keyed wheel setup or pin-on axles ? Ariens 10ML35 wheel mod

the solid tires on my Ariens 10ML35 are worn nearly smooth. rather than just put chains on them, I am considering an upgrade to pneumatic tires.

the decision then becomes, should I buy and install the factory 10M Ariens triangular 3 bolt hubs with factory tires, that are keyed to the axle ?

OR just buy aftermarket pneumatic tires/axle tubes/rims that are all one piece like the solid tires are, and just pin or bolt them on with one cross bolt on the outside of axle ? this would mean removing the key from the axle keyway and not utilizing the keyway to turn the wheels.

I noticed later model solid axle machines with pneumatic tires often do not have a differential, and the axle tubes are not keyed to the axle shaft. they just put one bolt or pin through the outer hub/axle that does both things- holds the tire on, and transfers the torque to the wheels.

the factory setup uses a keyway to transfer torque, and a cotter pin on the outside of wheel to hold the wheel on the axle shaft

just say NO to Chinese made ANYTHING !
