Tecumseh muffler gasket doesn't fit

For a HSSK50 engine the parts book shows p/n 33670A as being the muffler gasket. I bought one from a local shop and it doesn't line up with the exhaust port on my engine. The gasket is symmetrical with 2 screw holes and a big hole in the center, but the muffler and exhaust port are offset slightly from center. With the gasket in place, it blocks part of the port.

So... is there a different p/n gasket that fits correctly? Or do I just ignore it?

A quick check of the parts list for a HSSK50 shows part number 35865 as the correct muffler gasket.
Item # 274

What he said. There are more than 1 gasket, I usually take the muffler with me to confirm I get the right ones. My local shop just sticks them in a drawer and whether I have gotten one for the wrong engine or not I don't know but I try to insure I get the right one.

The parts breakdown in my owner's manual also shows it as item 274, but p/n 33670A. I believe 35865 is the generic replacement. If you look at the image in that link, you'll notice that the gasket is symmetrical.

I Google'd 33670A and came up with this on eBay -

That's the correct one.
