This winters repairs/mods.

Since joining this forum in Feb and getting a lot of snow i have replaced the pull cord (broke), replaced the drive axle and pinion sprocket bushings, tached the engine and adjusted the carb, done the impeller mod, adjusted the friction disc for a faster reverse, changed the oil to 5-30 synthetic, made some drift cutter bars and I just completed a chute mod.

The chute mod really confines the discharge snow stream a lot. The snow I tested it in was large granule ice at 35 degrees so it was heavy. I could fill a wheelbarrow with how directed the stream is. But the one handed cell phone pic doesn't show it.

The inspector in the second to last pic seems to approve of the project.

Thanks. Need to try it in some powder to see how it performs. It really showed some promise in the heavy stuff.
Might have to cut and re-weld the base to get it more vertical.

Did you make the new chute yourself? If you did, how did you get that nice graceful curve in it? English wheel?

I modded the base with a cut and weld and then added a plastic upper chute from another machine. The pics at the top of the thread show some of this.
