Snowbird 7040-0 5/22 season finale

broke the belt on the forward drive belt on the Snowbird, it's number came up, so replaced it with one I had laying around. really runs better now. but then it dropped the forward pulley roll pin. replaced that.

roll pins lose tension over time in these machines, due to age and vibration. the difference in dimensions is considerable, between a new one and old used one.

got to use it one last time, last Friday. about 4" of fluffy cotton candy-like snow. it throws a lot better with the tighter drive belt. the new roll pins hold solid now in the impeller and drive pulley. amazingly powerful little machine for its size. there's another one for sale locally for cheap money may get it for parts. I can see keeping this Snowbird around for the long run.

it was gettin' gravel again, BIG TIME the thaw loosened up the frozen gravel, and the one day snow did not freeze the ground again. worst conditions to blow snow in. but this engine ate through it even at low speed. really a torquey little thing.

seems that the guys that have their older working snow birds really like them, must have been top of the line in their time

man does that thing THROW !! it was throwing small gravel with snow like a machine gun, and considerable distance too. no need for paddles on a snowbird
