B&S muffler replacement questions

My early 80's vintage MTD has an 8 hp B&S engine.
The muffler is pretty loud.
Does anyone know what kind of muffler I could put on as a replacement?
I wouldn't even mind something ridiculously big as a conversation piece, haha.
I'm not thinking car muffler or fullsize tractor, but something else.
How do the mufflers of this vintage usually attach? Screwed on or bolted?

those engines are pretty loud, i would try a bolt on muffler or the long screw on kind, but those dont really do much, i would try a glass pack but maybe a shorter stack then the one shown

Might be a lot of work for little difference.

Please direct all snow blower questions to the forums and not to me with PMs.

Garage
I would grab one of those glass pack style sausage mufflers that screw right into the exhaust port. They are usually about $5.
