looking for a carb for my thrower

the model number to it is 247.889570

i seen the carb on sears for like nearly $100 im kind of hoping to find something much cheaper i wouldn't care if it only lasted a year or even a season for that matter.

i've had the worst luck with this piece of junk but i dont have the dough to replace it and last year i wasn't able to get it started i would really like to have it for next season.

since i've had the thing its been a nightmare luckily with the warranty they were willing to "fix" it whatever that means.... but that ran out and now im on my own. any help i would greatly appreciate.

i dont have much knowledge on this type of thing but im sure i can take it apart and put it back together if i could just get help finding the right part or how to know i found the right part that would fit on the machine .

thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum Jim

It would make it so much easier if you also added the engine numbers just in case it ISN'T the original engine and since you looked on Sears website you could have even given the Sears part number.
Just that much less someone else has to do to help you.
Before you order that carb I'd check the engine numbers just to make sure.

Welcome to SBF. We feel your pain, but don't worry, we're here to help.

I took a look at the Sears parts page for the model # you gave. The carb listed is part # 951-10974A and lists for $49.14 through Sears.

Using that part number, Jackmels and 43128 found two sources other than Sears for quite a lot less. As they pointed out, it is a commonly used engine and carb these days.

I'm pretty much retired from the forum thing, but I check in every now and then.
