Ariens 920014 engine

I have an Ariens 24LE that was run without oil. Haven't taken it apart yet. It has a 205cc Briggs. Unit is like new. Wondering best engine to replace it with. Was told parts for this may be hard to get.
Any ideas are appreciated.

You can get one of those Honda clones for around $100. The Harbor Freight one would be 212cc.

You will loose the electric start and the headlight alternator though.

Please direct all snow blower questions to the forums and not to me with PMs.

Does the engine even pull over any more or is it locked up?. Running without oil tends damage the connecting rod bearing the most if the Briggs engine has ball bearing supported crank. If it wasn't ran for too long you may be able to get by with a new connecting rod and bearing insert provided the crank is not scored. Run for several minutes with out oil could score the whole thing up really bad and then replacement of the entire crankshaft and connecting rod assembly or repower will be needed.
