Ariens Deluxe 28 SHO 921044 Squeaky Chute Control

Hey guys/gals just got my new Deluxe delivered from the dealer and it looks and feels amazing. One question though, i've noticed some others have had this issue before but when turning the chute left and right it sounds like Chewbacca yelling at me lol. The noise comes from underneath the worm gear when it looks like there is a few circular bushings. I sprayed a little white lithium grease in there and worked the chute back and forth and it went away but not even a day later(not using it at all obviously) and the noise is back. I contacted Ariens who said it sounds like the bushing might be worn or installed incorrectly and to call the dealer. Now before i go calling the dealer and trying to get them to come pick it up on their dime is there a suggestion for me to try, i'm pretty mechanically inclined and can do a good amount of work myself. Thanks!

I had the same issue. Its a loud high pitched wine when turning the chute in any direction. It's a pretty simple fix.

The bolt is located underneath this. No need to take the cover off as seen in the picture I am just giving you an idea of the bolt. Its circled in red. Loosen this bolt up until the squeeking goes away.

+1 for the fix. There is a fine line between getting it loose so it does not squeak, but still keeping some tension on it so the chute stays in place when pitching wet heavy snow. I would keep it as is and try it this winter. With the motor running at high rpm, my guess is you will not hear the squeak.
