Hi wantboost

Are you sure the coil is n/g? Not usually the case. How did you test it? MH

Instead of asking for a coil for a snowblower you might want to post the numbers off the engine, model/serial/family as those are the numbers that matter.
You should also try to identify the machine a little better. Is it a Toro ??

Did you have a spark and lose it...or never had one? Make sure key is "on" and throttle is off the "stop" position, too. MH

i cannot find the stamp on the motor. Ive obtained this from a friend . I cleaned flywheel and disconnected main safety/ground hardness .
yes key is on and throttle is off of stop . i doubt this would matter since i have harness disconnected

The harness is for the safety switch...it will kill the engine if the right grip is released when the drive is engaged. The stop switch is separate as is the key. To bypass all, disconnect the engine coil lead from everything. If you have done that, be sure that the wire is not shorting against the engine anywhere between the stop/safety connection and the coil...a frayed wire for example. Did you check the air gap between flywheel and coil? MH

Your engine is a 8 hp Tecumseh model HM80-155291K.
The coil part number is 35135B and retails for around $50.

Well, that's an aftermarket part, so, yeah, $15 to $20 for an aftermarket coil, $50 for the genuine Tecumseh.
