tightened auger belt now loose again

I just tightened the auger belt with the idler pulley and now it seems loose again. Did it just stretch? it keeps falling off. I guess I'm going to tighten it again but I can only do this so many times, the belt seems to be in good condition.

I have no clue how old the belt is but that it looks in good condition and from what I can see doesn't look very old at all. I would think if this was the original belt from 1995 that it would show.

Donít really understand what you are asking. My auger belt is loose (not turning) until the actuation lever is depressed. The lever moves the idler into the belt tightening it up and turning the auger. There is a lot of travel in the lever but once the idler is in good contact with the belt and making it tight a spring in the actuation system allows over travel of the lever while holding the idler against the belt.

Is that how your system works?

If so where are you making the adjustment and when is the belt coming off?
