Patched!

I brought this tough looking engine into the shop tonight the cannibalize the fuel tank. When I removed the tank I was surprised to see the block apparently patched. I assume the damage was the result of a thrown rod.

I'm guilty of doing that once or twice over the years. Both times the patched up motor ended up outliving the machine it was on...

I've seen a few videos of patches being installed or cracks repaired on blocks, but never seen one personally.
