Cub Cadet 826T Friction Wheel Bolt Loose

I have a problem with the nut holding the friction wheel tight coming loose when running the snowblower. I have to keep removing the auger housing and re-tightening the nut. (It is not the friction disk with rubber on it). I have tried using locknut on it and it still comes loose. I have seriously considered drilling a hole through the bolt and putting a cotter pin in to keep the nut from coming loose.

I realize this is not a problem for everyone and it must be operator error. I just can't figure out why it keeps coming loose. Can anyone help?

Pictures would help but if there's room enough and it won't hit anything, I don't see where a cotter key would hurt in most situations.
