Post count required to link / post images?

I am trying to post images in a thread, but being a newbie, there seems to be a rule against it.

"To be able to post links or images your post count must be greater. You currently have 3 posts.
Please remove links from your message, then you will be able to submit your post."

How many posts are required?
Or can someone lift that restriction?

Thx

you need 10 posts in different threads to be able to post pics.

Thanks, figured it was somewhere around that mark.

It's a dumb rule that is on many forums... I get it, but a real pain for newbs (with experience though) trying to contribute!

+1 post!

I am just going to have to spam a few then as I just don't have enough questions or knowledge to share at this time.

But I wanted to share pics of my first snow blower, as there was some debate about the B&S branded blowers, and thought some people would be interested

+1 post!

I've seen it done where pictures are allowed from the very first post (I believe you can do it using copy and paste or through "manage attachments"). If you use links you wont be able to until post # 11 or 16.

You can always welcome new members or do an introduction thread where you can thank every member (counts will go up fast).

Welcome to the forum.....!

Were are working on trying to get that rule lifted..there is no logical reason for having it, because spammers post links, not photos..I cant think of any reason to have a post quota for photos.

I'm going to have to take a screenshot when I see it again, but I have seen pictures posted on a members very first post (not using links).
I believe the reason why most new members can not insert pictures is because they are using links to post the pictures and there is a restriction of post counts for links which is very understandable due to scammers......

In my post earlier, I mentioned this is the was forum response:

"To be able to post links or images your post count must be greater. You currently have 3 posts.
Please remove links from your message, then you will be able to submit your post."
