Voting and Polls

I'm pretty sure I once saw a capability on the forum that lets you put a "vote" or a "poll" into a post but I can't remember where and I can't find it again.
It might have been a totally different site though

I'm looking for a capability that lets me say...

What is your favorite color?
Red
Green
Blue

Then people click on one of those three and I get an accumulated count

Firstly.. does it exist?

Secondly... is there inbuilt logic to make sure no-one votes more than once

Thirdly... can I as owner of the post subsequently go in and freeze the results and basically "end the election" and capture the numbers at that moment in time instead of leaving the election open forever

Finally.. can I control if voters can or cannot see the tally so far

EDIT: I can I restrict it to forum members not lurkers?

Any ideas on any of these capabilities and which (if any) exist

When you start entering your post, any post, at the bottom is a box for Poll then hit enter or submit and the next will be the Poll.

I'm just not seeing those options on either quick-reply or go-advanced or the other reply button either

They don't magically appear in "Preview post" either :-(

Do you see them when you do it? Any idea if it's a configuration thing? Did I turn it off? or maybe I don't have permission?

I just tried it. I went to new thread, scroll down you have subject line, then enter your question or comments, scroll down, you have additional options, below that you have manage attachments, just a few lines below you have Poll with the option for how many questions. If you don't see this then contact a moderator or the website.

The Poll is always on a new post, and it always appears as the first post with comments if left below that. Plus if there is a Poll it will say Poll on the main subject posting screen.

I have one last question on Voting

I set up a vote that was anonyomous... just in case someone had a reason to not want their name visible

I may have messed up... I expected that the Election creator would be able to see those names anyway.
However I can't seem to find that.
1) Is it even possible for me to get that info?
2) If not.. is it possible to change the "Type"of election from anonymous to names-visible after the fact?

Thx

SUGGESTION @Administrator

There's one problem with all this poll stuff. (several?)
Suppose I make a poll on Monday...However, you don't check the site until Thursday.
By the time you come in...the poll is now 300 threads deep on the "Recent Discussions" and you'll never see it
If you only really check the threads with recent activity.. the poll doesn't exist in your head

So the only votes that show up will be mine! After all... I know the poll is there and I probably voted
Other people either see it and don't care... or they don't see it
Not much of a poll in that case is it?

I'm a guy who always looks for solutions to "problems"

I think there needs to be a section just above "Recent Discussions" called "Active Polls"
That way everyone sees it and either vote or don't depending on if they care or not

Is it a great idea? - YES
Is it likely to happen anytime soon - Can we make that happen?

Happy to beg if that's what it takes :-)
