Member location sugestion.

See the seasonal influx of new members, many who ask questions, without a location in there profile. Is it possible to turn on a function when signing up that requires a location ?

Makes a big difrence when asking about prices for used equipment, or whats best for my location, and not knowing Canada, New england, or Colorado without asking.

Thanks !

While that's a great suggestion, we cannot force members to provide their location when signing up to the forums. We can always suggest it, and there is a profile section for it, but it would be up to the members to provide that info.

I'll offer my location: Delaware County, New York. One mile from the Middle of Nowhere.

Isn't it the school's responsibility to teach geography, not the "highways department" ?

I always try to welcome new members when I see their first post or two and gently request a location and explain it's to help them. All we can do is ask.

Richard

I know where that nowhere is!
Im from Waverly NY (Tioga county) and went to college at SUNY New Paltz (Ulster county)
I drove through Delaware county all the time! Nice area..
Im a big fan of the Southern Tier "middle of nowhere" way of life..
I'll probably move back eventually..(Im now up in Rochester NY, not too far away..)
