Woodwork, or other creative type stuff calls for lite blues/jazzy blues or other cool instrumental stuff. Wrenching means anything from rockabilly to adult alt rock, with classic rock a big favorite. I play (or try to play) guitar, so really good riffs are required, no matter the genre.

All of the above, maybe a little less of the country (but I like it too).

Recently going through my collection of the late great Mose Allison.

Classic rocker here, Tom Petty and the heartbreaks, Aerosmith, Led Zep, Stones, Van Hagar etc...

How ever I like the blues that ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton play.

Oh ya, blue on black is one of my favorites although I do admit I'm not familiar with a lot of his music.

When I'm in the basement/man cave working I use Pandora thru Directv, I like the assortment it plays and I have it hooked up thru my home theater which is full blown 7.1. Boston Acoustics all the way around with a Miller & Kreisel sub.
