Any coffee snobs out there........

I was just wondering if there are any of you that take making coffee to the extreme. I figure most members here are from cold weather areas so there may be some coffee snobs here.

Let er' rip guys, don't hold back.

I've been grinding my own beans for years. Started out with a spice mill but about six years ago bought a nice burr grinder. I have been purchasing fresh beans online for about ten years now. I recently started playing around with a Chemex I inherited which led me to getting a goose neck kettle and scale. My Bunn Phase Brew died about a month ago so I wanted to get something that only made one cup but was better than the Keurig we have so I ended up with a Moccamaster cup one. It makes a 10 oz cup and the clean up is next to nothing.

It's hard for me to drink coffee any where but home.

The best part of waking up is Maxwells in your cup.
Actually I seriously do like MacDonald's coffee when on the road.

I always have a pot of Melitta European Deluxe Roast or the Dark Roast at home. I also drink it black, so nothing to change the taste.

Melitta is our favorite too, has a bit of a nutty flavor. I take mine black as well, don't want anything to adulterate the taste. Speaking of McDonalds they now make a pretty decent cup of coffee, it sure is better than the swill they started with. That stuff wasn't fit for human consumption.

I did hear they started advertising fresh coffee every 30 minutes so it's a step in the right direction. Like you said at least your not getting some swill that had been sitting on a burner for hours. I may have to try a cup.

I might be a coffee snob in the sense that I honestly can't stand the stuff and stay away from it...

The wife loves Starbucks, tho...
