Mother Nature has let loose again!

Boy, when mother nature decides to do something lately, she does it up big! The storm that blew across much of the mid-west today has really caused a lot of problems, and unfortunately, some people have lost their lives on the highways. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have suffered terribly today.

The worst I suffered in my home was the power was off for about an hour.

How are you folks doing with the storm today?

We've had wind gust up to 50 mph, or so, here today. At least two reports of semis jack knifed on Interstate 80 outside Davenport, IA and another at Interstates 80 and 74 just east of here. Guess it was even worse out towards Iowa City and Des Moines. Temp is 25 outside right now.

Today

We got virtually nothing but south of here they apparently got wholloped.
35W south of Owatonna to the Iowa/Minnesota border is closed. I also heard they had something like a 20-30 vehicle accident down there.

I'm staying home for the Holidays this year. Going to be working on snowblowers instead

Merry Christmas everyone.

Yes, they did have a terrible pile up on I35. From the news reports they had a virtual white out.

We were actually pretty lucky here in Rock Island, IL. I think we got 4 to 5" though the wind stayed pretty steady during the night. It's calm today, and sunny, but the high is only expected to be in the low 20s, and down around 6 tonight.

I got out and did the drive, sidewalk and the street out front where folks park today. Went over and did a neighbor's drive, and my in-law's drive today. At least now the snowman up next to the house looks more like he belongs.
