They have been here for several years...indirectly via a Trojan Horse. i.e. Volvo, GM's Buick Envision, etc.

...they still must pass the safety and emissions testing. They've been unsuccessful so far.

The U.S. will probably use tariffs to keep China from flooding the market with low cost autos. We need to maintain our heavy industry. Here's an article about their militarization near International trade routes.

A story from a decade ago, but its still happening, more so than ever..something to add to the mix:

https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...the-honda-cr-v

Global Car manufacturers (outside of China) are in a real catch-22 when it comes to China..on the one hand, they want to sell to the massive Chinese market. On the other hand, China is ripping them off and stealing billions of dollars from them. Its a problem.

GAC was at the Detroit Auto show this year. They we’re saying that sales in US will start in 2 years. I sat in a few their models, seemed similar to KIA and Hyundai. They wouldn’t comment on the price either. I asked a few questions about the car / warrantee and the hired event staff women said that she would as the GAC rep but they couldn’t speak American well :/
