Question HD Radio

I have been thinking about replacing the stock radio in the 95-GS with ALPINE system. because I can play all of my head banging hair metal glam music off of a jump drive. and of course they have ones with xm radio built in them. but I do not want a monthly bill from that. so ALPINE makes 1 with HD radio around here there are only a handful of stations. but even with that can I still pull in stations from futher out here????????????? https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500HD1...?tp=5684&avf=Y Does anybody have an HD RADIO set up in there car and if you do what is your take on it??????????

Long LIVE THE POWERSHIFT!! MAY IT NEVER RUST IN PEACE!!

I think my kenwood excelon 5xx has hd radio but I have a portable sirius satellite unit with a life time subscription plus the I-pod is hooked up to it , I don't think I've ever listened to regular radio on it

My crown vic has an aftermarket radio with a line in port. I have a cheap Bluetooth adaptor from menards ($10?) that i stream iheart radio to from my cellphone. Lotta stations, most have HD quality sound. Uses data, but my family has Tmobile unlimited.

Forgot to mention, wife has a newer Mitsubishi with a factory radio with HD. The display has an indicator when a station becomes HD and the quality is much better, but I don't recall the range being any better or there being any more stations.
