What do you think? two yamaha snowmobiles circa 1986 for $1200

a neighbor is selling 2 for $1200 for both. start and run good. don't need anything ( that we know of ) probably service . don't have model number yet.

don't know anything about snowmobiles but i do live in snowmobile country. could ride them from house to trails.

circa 1986-87.

wondering about parts availability and whatever else before deciding. they look really good and i can tell that the owner kept them up. the only reason they are selling is because they are getting older and don't want to do it anymore. I believe they have had them since new. 30 years.

it's a 1987 excel lll model 340
ec340l

if parts are still available and the tracks arent aged cracked, two for $1200 sounds like a good deal. i would also do a compression test during the initial inspection.

Why is he selling them? How does he maintain his stiff? Does he seem pretty conscientious?

guy is in his 70's i am guessing. always kept in garage and maintained. he built his house himself. nice cars , the whole nine yards. beautiful condition machines.

seems like a no brainer. just might not have the room. i live right next to snowmobile trails.

Check KBB value. If good, go for it.
