I bought an Amazon Fire 10 tablet, Great

For several years I've been using an Acer Android tablet with version 5.xx with 32gb storage, front and rear camera, automatic and free backup.

In December I got an Amazon Fire 10 tablet with Amazon's own version of Android. I thought the price was $100, my wife said the price was $120 (she ordered it), and it came with a coupon to choose a very good case from a choice of thousands from a company called Caseable.

There's are things I like and things I don't like such as Amazon's OS. Their Silk browser, lacks a back button. Many Android apps are not compatible with it thus severely limiting the number of available apps. I haven't found a working casting app to my tv, and no Chromecast app. They have their own YouTube app called Mobile Tube which works fine but I still prefer the YouTube app. I like how the photos are stored. Their maps lack the user comments and ratings about stores that Google maps have, plus the maps themselves are very bare bones.

But, today, I uploaded my first set of pictures to SnowblowerForum.com and it worked flawlessly! Absolutely flawless. Where I always had problems from Android.

Cool! I'm glad it's working well so far.

We only have our phones (Android for me, iPhone for my wife), no tablets. I bounce back and forth about whether I want to get a tablet. One would be handy at times, but I use my laptop for web browsing on the couch, etc. So I doubt that I'd use one for that. Not having a physical keyboard would make it more cumbersome for participating in forums, etc.

But there are times that it would be nice to have a larger screen available, vs just the phones. The laptop is less convenient for something like bringing down to the garage to act as a manual or YouTube reference of something I'm working on. A tablet would probably be nice for that.

I can cast from my phone to the TV, but I rarely actually do. Now having a smart TV, and a TiVo with Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Now, etc, they have made casting things to the TV less essential.
